On a mac, only half the audio gets to flash media encoder

I am trying to stream video out from camtwist and want the ability to cut to pre recorded clips. I am currently using camtwist to do so easily enough. Everything was fine until I tried to get the audio to work. I am using a Rode "videomic" that is powered by its own 6v battery, going into line in on the computer. That's being sent into a multi-in device. I have camtwist sending its audio output to the same multi-in device via soundflower 2ch.

I then have Flash Media encoder using the video input and audio from multi-in.

I also created a multi out device that uses the built in output and soundflower 2ch (so i can hear what's going on in that channel)

The result of this mess is that while streaming I can hear the audio(at a very low volume) and no video playback. Flash media encoder plays the video just fine and the microphone reads in the bars but the audio from the video does not play strangely enough. I can hear it playing. I think it's just not getting through.

Is there a different solution I should be trying or what am I missing to get audio to play?
